Following the first NERPS conference’s successful publication of an edited book (Springer, forthcoming February 2023) and acceptance of a Special Issue proposal for the World Development Sustainability journal, we invite conference participants to consider submitting their full papers for the NERPS Conference 2023. Manuscripts will be reviewed and invited to either the following publishing options.
Authors are encouraged to submit their full papers for consideration in a Special Issue of Sustainability journal (IF 3.889 / CiteScore 5.0). In partnership with NERPS, MDPI will waive the article processing charge (APC) for 10 selected papers. Students, early career researchers (ECRs), and authors from the Global South will be given priority for the APC waiver.
This Special Issue for World Development Perspectives invites original research articles (conceptual and empirical) and review articles (traditional reviews or scientometrics/bibliometrics) that elucidate the prospects and constraints for achieving and sustaining peace locally, nationally or internationally amidst challenges to development and environmental change. Prospective authors that draw on peace and conflict studies or related disciplines but apply inter/multi-disciplinary approaches are particularly encouraged to submit.
This Special Issue for Current Research in Environmental Sustainability aims to contribute to informing action toward achieving SDGs through innovative and solution-oriented research articles, review articles, graphical reviews, and perspectives that elaborate on the linkages between environmental sustainability and the SDGs. It will include invited extended papers from the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) 2023 Conference that was held from February 28-March 3, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. Authors who have not attended the conference are also welcome to submit their work to this special issue. (A limited number of APC waivers are available to NERPS 2023 Conference presenters.)
Other potential outlets include Sustainability (Topical Collection on “Indicators, Assessment Tools, and Rating Systems for Mainstreaming Sustainability in Urban Planning and Development”), Urban Science (Special Issue on “The Post-COVID Urbanism”) and Frontiers in Climate (Climate Adaptation). The APC for accepted papers will be negotiated accordingly.

Authors are encouraged to submit their full papers for consideration in the 2nd volume of the “Integrated Approaches to Peace and Sustainability” published by Springer Nature. Manuscripts will undergo a peer-review process with a minimum of two reviewers. Authors must be prepared to undertake necessary revisions.
