The NERPS 2026 Conference is planned as an in-person event at the United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan.

Presentation Guidelines

1. Upload a copy of your presentations in PowerPoint format through the AWARD Portal before March 2, 2026. Here’s a guideline for uploading your PowerPoint file.
2. Please arrive at your designated room 15 minutes before the session officially starts to get acquainted with the chair and other presenters.
3. A laptop and projector will be available. A technical team will be ready to assist the participants.
4. Please rehearse your presentation and ensure it falls within the allocated presentation time.

CHAIR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Please arrive at your designated room 15 minutes before the session officially starts to get acquainted with the presenters. Please ensure that all presenters are present and their presentation files ready.
2. Please meet each of the speakers prior to the start of the session and review their name pronunciation and brief biography to introduce them.
3. Briefly introduce yourself, the session, and each of the presenters (their names, institutional affiliations, and titles of presentations). You may introduce the presenters at the beginning of the session or before each presentation.
4. Ensure all presenters keep to the time limits (see TIME ALLOCATION). Please give each presenter a 5-minute and 1-minute warning. It is advised that when the time limit has reached, the moderator can signal to presenters to complete their presentation by standing up.
5. If a presenter does not conclude their presentation, it is the chair’s responsibility to politely end their presentation to allow for everyone in the session to have adequate time.
6. It is recommended that all questions are held until the end; however, chairs can allow for short, very brief qualifying questions to be asked of the presenter during transitions. All discussions, however, should be held to the end to allow for adequate time for each presenter.
7. During the Q&A/panel discussion section, please acknowledge all the presenters and have them all stand or move to the front of the room so that each are available for questions.
8. As the chair, you should be prepared to ask questions or provide feedback to each presentation to help initiate the discussion. Please ensure that all presenters are included in the discussion.
9. Provide respectful and constructive feedback to each presentation, either after each presentation or at the end of all presentations. Chairs will be provided with an assessment form to help the organizers in identifying the best presentations.

TIME ALLOCATION

1. Each session is allocated 1 hour and 30 minutes for all presentations, feedback, and Q&A.
2. Each presentation is allocated 15 minutes and the remaining time will be for the Q&A.
3. Chairs of organized panels, roundtables, and workshops will decide on the timing of speakers/presentations and Q&A.
