NERPS’ Participation in Cali Biodiversity Week 2025

Santiago de Cali, Colombia | September 29 – October 5, 2025

As part of the Cali Biodiversity Week 2025, hosted in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) at Hiroshima University was honored to contribute to this global platform for ecological and climate solutions.

Representing NERPS, Elham Saberi, Education and Research Coordinator, delivered a pre-recorded video presentation introducing the network’s vision, mission, and key activities under the leadership of Professor Shinji Kaneko, Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives and Director of NERPS at an event held at the Icesi University´s campus. The presentation highlighted NERPS’ ongoing efforts to advance peace and sustainability through interdisciplinary research and education.

The event, supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), ICLEI, and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), gathered cities, universities, and international organizations to share innovative, nature-based solutions for addressing the world’s environmental challenges.

NERPS extends sincere appreciation to Professor Vladimir Rouvinski from ICESI University, Colombia, for his warm coordination and invitation, and for sharing photos from the event.

This participation demonstrates NERPS’ continued commitment to fostering dialogue and partnerships across regions and disciplines in pursuit of a more sustainable and peaceful future. NERPS is proud to have a commitment to connecting peace, sustainability, and innovation on a global stage.
