We are honored to announce that Dr. Måns Nilsson, Executive Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute, will be the first keynote speaker at the NERPS 2026 Conference at the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo, Japan.
Måns Nilsson is Executive Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). Leads and delegates all work at the institute, with approximately 400 staff and seven centres around the world. He is an accomplished scholar in policy sciences related to sustainable development, including policy coherence, institutions and governance, and policy/finance for innovation and development. He received his MSc (Economics and Business) from the University of Lund, Sweden, and his PhD degree from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. He also served for 12 years as Professor of Practice at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
Måns Nilsson is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and serves on the Board of Directors of IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet AB—regular advisor to the UN, the OECD, the European Commission, and the Swedish government.
